End-of-Day Tarot Spread
Not all of us do our days as well as we would like. And, not all of us drift easily into dreamtime - or stay there. This End-of-Day Tarot spread was born from my own restless or difficult sleep.
(You can also read about inviting ancestors into your dreams in this post)
The Spread
I’ve added the name of my cards so you can follow the layout.
The energy of the day High Priestess
How I responded to that energy 5 Pentacles
What I did well The Moon
What I could have improved upon Magician
What I need to release in order to relax Hierophant
What I need to envision for sleep Lovers
What I will take with me into dream land 8 Swords (I left this reversed, although I don’t tend to read reversals)
Read the spread top row left to right, then bottom row left to right
As with almost any spread, I’m a fan of drawing clarifiers if you’re stumped on the card’s message. Use either the same deck for clarifying cards or an oracle. Either works.
My take, and would love yours . . .
Although the day started with an inner-knowing type of energy (High Priestess), I spent much of the day dealing with one small distraction after another (5 Pentacles). However, I did manage to eek out a tiny bit of time for The Hidden Path planning (The Moon).
According to the spread I could have done a better job of manifesting (Magician) instead of just dreaming (again, the Moon), so it would have served me better to work on manifesting rather than just thinking about it.
What I need to release is the sense of perfectionism (Hierophant) – a personal bugaboo for me and one that is a generational pattern. (I write about this in Ancestral Tarot).
I am being encouraged to envision better choices and take with me into the Dreamtime a sense of more personal freedom (8 Swords). And by that, I mean freedom from those damning thoughts that drive perfectionism.
So as I go into Dreamtime tonight, I’m going to envision myself making better choices – perhaps even seeing two paths, and confidently choosing one of them.
What do you think?
Is this a spread that could help you find better sleep? Or at least more knowledge about self?
If you try this spread, please leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Thanks!
Nancy
Deck: Mystic Mondays
Love it! I like to ask myself, what was today about?
Love this, and won’t be at all surprised if it resonates loudly for others!
