Resolving Conflict
even with someone in Spirit
A spread I thought you
might need one of these days: Conflict Resolution.
The spread works well as long as both parties are willing to work towards resolving their differences. It can even be effective when the person with whom you had the contentious relationship is in Spirit. (See below)
Conflict Resolution Spread
Card 1 (Your Perspective): How you view the situation or feel about the conflict.
Card 2 (Their Perspective): How the other person might view the situation or feel about the conflict.
Card 3 (Root Issue): The underlying problem or cause of the disagreement.
Card 4 (Your Best Approach): What action or mindset will help you move toward resolution.
Card 5 (Their Needs): What they might need or want to feel understood or supported.
Card 6 (Outcome): The likely result if both parties work toward resolution.
Sample Interpretation
Your Perspective (The Tower): You feel like everything has fallen apart, and nothing will ever be worked out.
Their Perspective (The Moon): They are uncertain or confused about the situation; probably because they’re looking through moonlight, not sunlight)
Root Issue (Five of Swords): A sense of betrayal or misunderstanding has caused tension. Or a sense of competition.
Your Best Approach (Temperance): Practice and more patience, balance, and open communication to heal the rift.
Their Needs (The Lovers): They seek a sense of partnership, trust, or unity. They actually would prefer a different choice rather than feeling anger.
Outcome (Hermit): Once the conversation has concluded, it looks as though spending time together - at least for now - isn’t the best thing for either of you. Time for reflection.
If you’re wondering how someone in Spirit
can be a willing partner in conflict negotiation . . . create a quiet space, then use your pendulum to ask whether they want to resolve the conflicts you had when they were in the body. Sometimes their answer is ‘no’. But, in my experience, more often their answer is ‘yes’.
