You may have heard me say this, but I’m not
crazy about doing weekly readings for the collective. For me, that’s a little like reading the daily horoscopes for all Gemini on earth. For me, it makes no sense…..which is why I don’t do them.
However, I AM happy to suggest my own version of a weekly reading using your own Planetary Podcast, which I jokingly refer to as Astro.fm! Here’s how it works:
First: Set your intent and then let each planet speak to you as a mentor or ally. Next, skim through the basic metaphysical meanings of each planet, the Sun, and Chiron.
Then, use your tarot or oracle deck (runes work too) and draw one card for the Sun, each planet, and Chiron. Journal your cards and thoughts (see below) for each, then check back next Sunday night and see which planets lined up for you and which went sideways …..or should that be retrograde? 😀
Bonus Idea
If you have a natal chart and know the house where each planet roams, use that information to add a valuable layer to your weekly reading. I’ve added the planetary glyphs (those little symbols next to the planet name) just in case you need the reference when reading your own chart.
Let me give you one example. My Pluto is in the 7th house. That tells me - even before I draw a card - that transformation is going to come through relationships (7th house). I drew Self-Support from the Botanical Dreams Oracle. For me, the transformation Pluto is bringing this week will require me to anchor into ME first . . . before bringing it into my relationships.
Your Celestial Line-Up
Get your cards and dive in. Draw a single card for each, unless you need a clarifier (extra card).
☉ Sun
The Sun is the core of the self, illuminating purpose, vitality, and soul intention. It asks us to shine with authenticity and claim our divine right to exist and express. You may want to draw a card asking: What will be revealed about my identity, purpose, or visibility in the coming week?
☽ Moon
The Moon reflects the soul’s emotional memory and ancestral inheritance. She teaches us to honor cycles, feelings, and the sacred wisdom of the inner world. Draw a card, asking: What emotional patterns or intuitive messages will surface soon?
☿ Mercury
Mercury is the messenger between worlds. It governs thought, language, and the way we bridge the seen and unseen with our words and perceptions. Draw a card, asking: What message, idea, or conversation is coming that I need to be prepared for?
♀ Venus
Venus vibrates with the frequency of love, beauty, and attraction, revealing how we relate, create, and receive. She invites us to recognize pleasure as a spiritual principle. Draw a card, asking: What will shift in my relationships, values, or creative flow?
♂ Mars
Mars is the sacred fire of will and action, urging us to move forward with courage and desire. It holds instinct, and the divine right to take up space. Draw a card, asking: Where will I be called to take bold action—or encounter resistance?
♃ Jupiter
Jupiter is the great expander, filling our path with abundance, truth, and cosmic perspective. He reminds us that faith can move mountains. Draw a card, asking: What growth or blessing is on the horizon, and how can I align with it?
♄ Saturn
Saturn is the keeper of time, karma, and sacred structure—both the teacher and the taskmaster. He shapes us through limitation and perseverance, helping us grow roots deep enough to hold true power. Draw a card, asking: What responsibility, boundary, or karmic pattern will test or refine me next?
â™… Uranus
Uranus sparks awakening, disruption, and liberation from outdated patterns. He invites radical authenticity and alignment. Draw a card, asking: What unexpected shift or breakthrough is coming—and how can I meet it with grace?
♆ Neptune
Neptune merges us with the dreamscape of spirit, art, and unconditional love. It teaches surrender, compassion, and clarity that only the heart can understand. Draw a card, asking: What dream, mystery, or fog is about to rise—and what truth lies within it?
♇ Pluto
Pluto governs the deep underworld of transformation, power, and soul evolution. It destroys illusion to birth truth, and guides us through death‑rebirth cycles. Draw a card, asking: What is being dismantled—or reborn—in my life?
âš· Chiron
Chiron is the Wounded Healer, bridging the realms of pain and medicine, human and divine. It reveals how our deepest wound can become our greatest gift. Draw a card, asking: What wound or wisdom offers a chance to heal and guide?
TIP
If you don’t like the possible outcome for any of the cards, draw another card asking how you can change the outcome
Journaling Your Weekly Planetary Podcast
I admit, I was only going to include the ‘inner planets’ (the fastest moving ones) but since we’re in the age of Pluto in Aquarius, I thought we needed them all. The Sun and Chiron made the list because (IMHO) sometimes we need to understand what we’ve gone through in order to realize just how powerful we are.
You may want to copy or print the planetary lineup or save it to your phone as a quick reference if you do weekly readings for yourself or others.
One last suggestion - I like journaling these weekly draws, then revisiting next week (or each night) to make notes on the accuracy of the reading.
Just as a point of reference - I use an app called Day One - primarily because I can’t read my messy handwriting. Day One has both a free and paid version. I like it because it lets me pull in images of my draws along with anything else that’s important to me (like how long I’m on the exercise bike). You can also export a PDF of all or part of your journal. Kinda cool at the end-of-the-year or mid-year to print your journaling.
Pick a question from below and share in the comments!
Which planet's energy do you feel most connected to right now? What card did you draw for it?
Share one insight from your planetary reading that surprised you this week.
How would tracking your weekly planetary readings change your relationship with tarot or your inner wisdom?
Which house in your chart is experiencing the most activity lately? What cards keep appearing for it?
If you could receive guidance from just one planetary mentor this week, which would you choose and why?

Saturn: Knight Wands
Uranus: 2 Wands

Interesting to have 5 court cards. Taken as a whole, I think my attention is going to be focused on those courts more than the others.
So cool! Restacked!
